Cookies and browser storage

Cookie Policy

This policy explains the essential browser storage used by the website and how optional analytics or marketing categories are controlled.

This is practical website information, not legal advice. It should be reviewed after analytics, advertising or additional third-party tools are changed.

Cookies and localStorage

Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent with relevant web requests. localStorage is browser storage that remains on your device but is not automatically sent to the server.

Ace Rapid Response uses essential storage for functions such as secure user sessions, cookie preferences and remembering that a visitor dismissed the newsletter signup prompt.

The newsletter popup dismissal and cookie consent choices are stored in localStorage. These values do not contain newsletter subscriber records or applicant details.

Storage categories

Essential

Core site operation, security, user authentication and remembering consent choices.

Examples: HTTP-only user session cookie; cookie consent value in localStorage.

Always active where required

Analytics

Understanding page usage and improving website journeys when analytics consent is accepted.

Examples: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, loaded only after analytics consent.

Off until accepted

Marketing

Advertising measurement, campaign attribution or audience features if added later.

Examples: No marketing tracker is currently activated by this consent tool.

Off until accepted

User session cookie

Authenticated dashboard users receive a signed HTTP-only session cookie. It is unavailable to normal client-side JavaScript, uses same-site protection, is marked secure in production and is required to protect applicant, CV and subscriber administration pages.

Consent choices

The consent banner offers Accept all, Reject non-essential and Manage preferences. Essential storage remains available because the website cannot provide secure core functions without it.

Optional analytics and marketing categories are off by default. Non-essential scripts should only load after the relevant consent is stored. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are only loaded when analytics consent has been accepted.

You can clear the site data in your browser to reset saved choices. A dedicated reopen-preferences control can be added if additional tracking tools are introduced.
